Public education started with the idea of teaching religion, but with the conflict of many faiths, it started to change. Education continues to change and grow with deep conflict of academic stresses, budget issues, and shutting down a child's own ability to speak from the heart. If that is your system of education, then you are not alone, and there are other options. All children deserve to experience education that fits their way of learning be it visually, kinesticilly, through auditory processing or all of the above. New education systems are producing new schools of thought and practice to enhance the art of learning and living in a society with integrity.
What happened to the body, mind & spirit class? Children learn best in peaceful, encouraging, and loving environments. Children are all very different in body and mind just as much as they are in learning. An educational system should honor a child's intelligence and ability to learn. In an improper educational setting, a child is easily left behind and lost to opportunities of growth. Awakened educational schools of thought teach children about life through experiential ways to art, science, reading, writing, activities, and life skills. Imagine if more schools focused on connecting to the loving heart in body and mind 101, right after math and history class.
