Meditation & Yoga: Welcome to Honoring the Soul
Meditation is medicine for the mind, and with extensive research many have stated that meditation calms, soothes, creates connection, creates awareness, and good health.  Meditation involves many different techniques that can include deep breathing, silence, body awareness, movement, self reflection, and visualization. It is practiced for higher states of consciousness, personal clarity, and relaxation.  There are many forms of meditation practiced around the world and each  practice offers access to higher ways of living and being.

Children meditate differently from adults.  A child has the ability to connect to the self in any moment without having to retreat into a peaceful space.  A child can easily tap into their inner world of vivid imagination by  joining a sensory experience of sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch.  Meditation has been proven to be beneficial to decrease stress, create calmness, release tension and offer emotional support.  Meditation and yoga share a history, and are commonly paired together creating a deeper richer body and mind experience.

Yoga is the ancient art of movement, breath awareness, and mindfulness.  It activates the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies to produce a greater sense of self awareness.  Yoga postures are taught by a teacher that specializes in a certain type of yogic philosophy, which provides strength with fluidity, powerful movements, breath, and personal awareness. Yoga for children is drawn from the ancient philosophies of traditional yoga.  It benefits children by creating a positive sense of self, spatial awareness, body tone, flexibility, and divine connection. Yoga nourishes the spirit of a child in a playful, fun and interactive way.  Yoga and meditation compliment each other and often are learned together for over all spiritually active awareness.
